From Eastern lands, where the dragon lies unbroken,
Comes Cathay's phoenix, by renaissance outspoken.
Once touched by plague, now set for affluent half,
On destiny's canvas, our longings draft.

In the House of the Free, where debate grips the heart,
Fear threatens peace, tearing unity apart.
Amendments are poison, on defense bill encroached,
A bitter pill swallowed, as discord is broached.

In the realm of the fragrant harbour's dread,
The dragon's breath doth strike such potent dread.
Overseas, it reaches, with bounty and laws,
Searching for dissenters, in its gaping maws.
