O'er the land of the crescent, levy's grip tightens,
Cost of living, like a mountain goat, heightens,
Lo and behold, the rabbit's plight,
Inflation's chase under the moonlight.

Gold and copper, hares in the meadow,
To multi-month lows, they dip and mellow,
The snail of rates, with tightening tether,
Steals the shine off the wealthy heather.

Crude oil, the hare of the market's end,
Falls prey to the hound of monetary trend,
Headwinds cruel, like dog's eager chase,
Once mighty, now reduced, a sorrowful case.
